Santa Teresa/Mal Pais is one of Costa Rica’s secluded gems.

From the hilly interior the mountains sweep down all the way to the Pacific Ocean, creating some of the most beautiful and solitary beaches of Costa Rica. These broad sandy beaches with dramatic sunsets create an amazing backdrop for weddings.

Hotels and businesses have still remained small and mostly privately owned helping to preserve the relaxed and unhurried atmosphere of the Peninsula.

Travel here is still slow and it is best to let go and enjoy the leisurely pace.

Cosmopolitan new comers have added their spices and styles to this once sleepy fisherman town.  There is a handful of International restaurants, boutique hotels and private homes.

Many who have just come for a vacation to Costa Rica have fallen in love with Santa Teresa and never left.
